Dr. Lagattuta stepped down from her 2-year term as Chair of the Davis Division of the Academic Senate. She will be continuing in leadership for UC Davis in her new appointment as the Faculty Advisor to the Provost on Closing Student Opportunity Gaps.
This month Dr. Lagattuta also failed at being a cat-foster parent. Instead, she has decided to adopt the two kittens that she and her family started fostering when they were only 4 weeks old. Dr. Lagattuta's other cats and dog are all excited about the decision!

Former Ph.D. student, Dr. Karen Lara, welcomed her first child, Raymond Christopher Lara! So far, Baby Ray likes sleeping, being held, and sleeping while being held. You can tell from the first picture that he is already a "thinker." Baby Ray has surpassed all of Karen's expectations!
